A Woman To Look Up To

You can bet that as a young Tahltan girl growing up in Whitehorse, Yukon, Stacey Edzerza never dreamed that one day she would be working at a big city law firm. A lot has changed since those days, as Stacey is now in her third year of law school at the University of British Columbia and next year, she will begin working at Ferguson Gifford.

From a young age, Stacey found strength and inspiration through her parents and close family relationships. Originally from Telegraph, B.C., her family, and especially her grandfather, have always supported her and given her the confidence to pursue her dreams.

Needing time away from her heavy work load, Stacey keeps active and healthy through long distance running, and the occasional scuba diving adventure. Like many people, she finds that exercise not only increases her energy, but it also relieves stress..

When asked her advice for students today, Stacey said, “Follow your dreams and do whatever really interests you, and never undermine your capability of doing it.” She also recommends taking advantage of the support that is available, and not being afraid to ask for help when you need it.
For this up and coming young lawyer, the future is full of promise. By making healthy choices, believing in her talents, and following her dreams, Stacey is definitely a woman to look up to.
